DIGNITY HOUSE

At the Dignity House, we’re on a mission to transform lives and restore hope through the power of housing. We believe that everyone deserves a place to call home—a space where they feel safe, valued, and supported. The Dignity House is a place to breathe, rebuild, and begin again.

The Dignity House program offers more than safe, temporary shelter. Guests gain access to:

  • Mental health coaching

  • Addiction recovery counseling

  • Workforce readiness and job training

  • Support in developing healthy habits and essential life practices

  • Community connection and mentorship

  • Essential resources like ID recovery, budgeting, and healthcare support

Our goal is to create an environment where guests can stabilize, rebuild, and ultimately thrive.

Dignity Pathways is a 12-Month Plan Toward Independence

We walk alongside each guest through a structured year-long journey designed to support personal growth, skill development, and long-term stability.

  • Recovery and mental health planning

  • Financial literacy and budgeting skills

  • Workforce training and career coaching

  • GED and education support

  • Computer and digital literacy

  • Health checkups and meal planning

  • Tenant education and housing readiness

Each month builds upon the last, beginning with daily routines and basic needs, and ending with long-term planning, housing security, and stable employment.

This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to start again.

The transformation of the Dignity House has been nothing short of remarkable—and it couldn’t have happened without the steady hands and generous hearts of our community.

What was once an abandoned building is now a safe, welcoming space thanks to months of hard work, dedication, and support. From removing old stumps and painting walls to upgrading fire safety systems and laying fresh tile, every step in the renovation process was a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. Volunteers, local organizations, donors, and partners like HUD Jacksonville and the Marion County Board of Commissioners played a vital role in bringing this vision to life.
