A Season of Empowered Giving
Gratitude is overflowing at Wear Gloves this season. Numerous food donations have allowed us to meet immediate needs in our community while supporting families in ways that preserve independence and dignity.
We see firsthand the effort it takes for families to manage rising costs, irregular work hours, and daily household responsibilities. At Wear Gloves, our focus is on providing practical resources, training, and community support that empowers providers to make the choices that work best for their households. Our current goal is not to replace effort or responsibility, but to strengthen independence and provide support when unexpected challenges arise.
One way weβre doing this is through our temporary food pantry. Instead of pre-packed boxes, clients can select the items they need in a mini store setting, preserving choice and autonomy. This approach helps families put together a Thanksgiving meal that reflects their own plans and traditions.
Weβre especially grateful to those who made this work possible. Thanks to community partners (including Meadowbrook Church and Revo Church) we were able to fully stock the Dignity House Pantry (dedicated to Burt Yancey, who left a lasting impact at Wear Gloves) and launch our emergency pantry for all of our clients and their families.
We know support is most effective when it comes from a deep understanding of the people we serve. By building strong relationships with our clients, we can provide opportunities that honor their dignity, reinforce their independence, and help them take meaningful steps toward a stronger, more stable future.
