Transitional Housing: Creating a Foundation for Success
Did you know that the Wear Gloves Dignity House is more than a shelter?
The Dignity House is a wrap around transitional housing program. That means we specialize in helping men experiencing homelessness get off the streets, achieve independence, and move on to permanent housing. The men that come to the Dignity House are ready to regain control of their lives. We are here to provide them with a pathway towards success and stability. Throughout the Dignity House program our team provides inclusive, individualized support tailored to each guest.
How is the Dignity House different?
Providing a next step to independence.
The Dignity House Pathways Program begins with a decision: I'm ready to get my life back on track! Men experiencing homelessness come to the Dignity House when they are prepared to make positive change in their lives. After that crucial first step, our case management team works one-on-one with each guest to build a case plan designed to support their success. We help them acquire important personal documents like their birth certificate and I.D., set them up with mental health counseling from our on-site counselors, enrolls them in skill-building classes, and helps them secure gainful employment.
Not just a house, a home.
While they are living at the Wear Gloves Dignity House, guests are encouraged to build real community with everyone around them. By maintaining a friendly, supportive, and safe environment we work hard to support the wellbeing of every guest that comes through our door. When someone comes to the Dignity House, we welcome them as a member of our family and we make it our mission to ensure that everyone has what they need to be healthy, both physically and mentally.
A brighter tomorrow.
Watching one of our guests move on to permanent housing is the greatest feeling in the world. Knowing that through his determination and positive intention, he was able to transform his life, inspires us in ways he may never know. We at Wear Gloves are incredibly grateful to be a stepping stone in that path of success.
Thank you for letting us serve.
